Hebrews 12:5-11

New International Version (NIV)
5 And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says,

“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”[a]
7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? 8 If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline —then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. 9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! 10 They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. 11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace.

bittersweet

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-
ok i just had to let that out.
bc quite frankly.... its all over soon.
i feel like i just got here yesterday and everything was so scary but now i'm going to miss everyday about everything!

let's see.. what can i share...

one of my speakers spoke on the Holy Spirit.  these are some steps to live a clean, holy life :)
How we can be clean:

  1. making Jesus Lord by asking Him what to put away
  2. wearing the garment of praise
  3. wearing the armor of God
  4. depend on the scriptures which is the bread of life
  5. James 4:7
  6. right fellowship  1 John 1:7
  7. accountability: find a mentor
  8. make Jesus center John 12:31

He also said that we emptied the power of the cross with system, structure, etc.. I found this to be so true esp. these days in society where we're so focused on what or how to get things done by our own agenda and strategies. All it takes is pure obedience before the Father to do what He has called us to do.  We have the resurrection power to do all things.

Another speaker said all promises from God are Yes and we must be able to say Amen to them.  Sigh- I just talked about obedience right? haha.. thank you Jesus that your promises are living and active.  I pray that whenever YOU (my wonderful readers) and I hear from God that will will stand firm and say Amen to Him! We can't miss out on the good and perfect gifts from our heavenly Father.

"Whatever our hearts desire leads us to where we need to be"- This is very encouraging esp. for those that feel lost and unsure of what next steps to take.. it's all about the heart right? I keep praying that my heart beats the way His heart beats.  I told God if I can understand His heart then I can understand my own.  I also prayed for the 5 senses of God (something I never thought to pray for).  I want to hear, smell, see, touch, taste everything of God! [btw: this was confirmed in one of my ministry times- God is so good! :)]

Anyways- life is pretty good here at ywam.  There's ups and downs at times but overall it's pretty darn good.  Seeing lives transform, breakthroughs, healings, and so much more DAILY is a beautiful thing! life should be this way everyday, everywhere.  thank you to all my supporters for partnering with me in this season of my life.  I really couldn't have done it without your friendships, love, words, and prayers.

I leave for outreach in exactly 1 month!  It's also my dad's 11th anniversary on that day.  When I received my mom's blessing to go to ywam, she mentioned that my dad always had a heart for missions.  I didn't know this at all.  God is truly sovereign and His timing is always perfect :) Please continue to pray for me throughout these next few months.  I know spiritual warfare will be not only upon me but my group as well.  We have 20 adults and 9 children.  Also, if you are led to partner with us financially please do so in the upper right corner. (i'll do another post about the details soon..it's still pending.)

well, I guess that's it for now! pictures are on fb. I miss you all and Korean food.
bye! :)

some thoughts...

  • God is more committed to me than I am to myself.
  • Grace only works when you step into something, not what you imagined.
  • Satan hates you.  Jesus LOVES you.
  • Loving God is a choice.
  • My tomorrow is His today.
  • Don't think of what you can't do but think of what you can do; created to be for God's glory (Ephesians 4:28).
  • More in the kingdom, more transformation in the world!!

Prayer to Break Word Curses:
  1. Forgive,  release, and bless the person= picture them to speak directly to them
  2. Repent for accepting this ungodly belief= "and I believe instead what God has said which is..."
  3. Break off all spiritual forces in Jesus' name= "I embrace God's blessing which is..."

words from Darlene Cunningham:
  • Jesus can tear down the script the enemy has created for us.
  • The touch of His nail pierced hands can comfort us.

schedule

hello friends-

[just a quick warning about this blog..sometimes i'm too delirious to edit or check stuff so please bear with me through this journey :)]

so although i knew a few things about ywam beforehand..no one ever mentioned how busy this place can get sheesh! monday-friday could go like so: i wake up at 6am for breakfast~!, 8-12 is worship/class, 12-1 lunch, 1-2:30 class (we started small groups today- divinely orchestrated by God without a doubt..so excited!), 3-5 work duty (i clean the preschool), 5-6 dinner, 6-8 sometimes you have fellowship with your school, then by 9 or 10pm i'm in bed~!!! weekends are free but sometimes schools/friends wanna hang out and sundays its tough getting shuttles around to local churches in the morning (they encourage you to go to the community for sunday service...75% of the sales in the local shops/plazas come from ywamers)..there's a nearby walmart and target with shuttle service or you can ask staff for a ride.. basically its jam packed schedules and you have to plan schedules to get around town...in the future, we'll rent cars and scooters for some exploring... woohoo!

i told some ppl already back at home but it feels like the show "lost" here.. where we're like in a bubble and we're just crazy for Jesus :)... i mean there's a library, cafe here, prayer room, kids going to school, you can do laundry, atm, even a boutique (its all free! stuff ppl left behind.. i picked up some shirts for outreach and work duty where i can get dirty in), mail service, gym, hmmmm what else am i missing? but you get the point... there's ppl everywhere and so much to do! its sincerely a glimpse of heaven here.. they practice the gifts a lot so its wonderful to see sisters and brothers praying for each other, getting healed, seeing visions..all that good stuff :)

God sure has been humbling me a lottttt here... i've been repenting like never before for many things and just so thankful that God gives me 13849034384 chances...His grace is surely enough.  It can definitely get uncomfortable here sometimes but i know He's stretching me for a greater purpose.
prayer requests:

  • trusting in Him always through the adjustments He takes me to
  • to have a teachable and humble heart
  • my health- to never be sick! the food, water, and weather here is giving me some acne and skin tone bumps :(

There's a reason why this school is called university of the nations.. top 4 nations here are the US, canada, korea, and norway... there's so many nations here and its a beautiful thing to see all of the nations come together and worship Jesus.. i probably can't go to all the nations in my life but having the nations come to me so to speak is a hugeeeee blessing! we're all so different, with different backgrounds and stories but we all have one purpose.. to bring revival and change the world~!

stay tuned for more posts...going to town for dinner soon and walking to walmart!

xoxo

outreach

so crossroads has about 47 students now plus 20 something children! (today(mon.) i was told that there were 58 more potential students but they dropped out for various reasons).. the youngest is 25 years old and the oldest is 81 years old~!

they added two more outreach locations last week: china and south africa.

today I found out that I will be going to _____ (my first choice :D many of you know but i left it blank to protect the ppl over there)~! there's about 20 of us going and one of the students mentioned that it would be passion week during our time there.  How exciting!

on a sidenote, i'm still short on my funds for the outreach phase.  If you are led to join me at this time please support me through paypal: hannayun@gmail.com (NOTE: only ONE "h") by anytime or you can click on the upper right corner "donate."

thank you again for your continuous support! i feel your prayers everyday! i'm praying for you all back at home as well! there's lots to be done for His kingdom! let's do this! :)

YWAM-KONA 2012

Hi hi- God is SO faithful! I have been given the opportunity to go to YWAM-Kona in Jan 2012. Below is my support letter. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedules to read, glance, pray over this! If you have any questions such as "why?!! how?!!!!" or anything, call/text/play with me! I have soooo many emotions but I trust in my sovereign God!!! I love you all! xoxo :)

Aloha Friends!

Hello! I hope everything is going well with you. I can’t believe 2011 is already almost over. I have some great news to share with you for my plans in the year ahead of 2012.

Let me just say this year has been quite a road for me. In fact, one of the most hardest and challenging months I have ever endured. For a few months up until my summer mission trip to El Salvador in August, I was at a very confusing and hurtful place thinking how would I overcome this part of my life.

During my time in El Salvador, I had some time to reflect and rest in God’s presence. He spoke to me in ways I never thought was possible. He shared His infinite love for me and convicted me to be the fragrant aroma (Ephesians 5:1-2) from that point on.

With this said, between the months of Jan- June 2012, I will be committing my time to YWAM- Crossroads DTS in Kona, Hawaii.

Youth with a Mission (YWAM) began in 1960 by Dr. Loren Cunningham and simply their purpose is “to know God and to make Him known.” The particular school I’ll be attending is called Crossroads (CDTS) that includes a 12-week lecture phase followed by an 8-week field assignment (half of the group will be sent to India and the other half to Israel).

More than anything, I would value your prayers for me in this new journey God has provided. He truly is the God that answers prayers! Physically, I’m asking you to pray for safety and good health. Spiritually, I ask that you pray for wisdom and direction in my life that will bring honor and glory to God. Just knowing that you will be praying will give me great joy and peace!

Beyond your prayers, if you are led to join me by financially supporting this time in my life, I would be eternally thankful. Fees for the 12-week lecture phase of the school are $3,995 (room, board and tuition). Likewise, fees for the field assignment estimated to be $4,000-$4,500 (dependent upon the outreach location) which will include airfare, ground transportation, food and housing. Checks may be payable to Hannah Yun or by paypal: hannayun@gmail.com (NOTE: only ONE "h"). This is a journey that God has called me to and I would greatly appreciate any level of support you are able to offer.

Once again, I sincerely hope that things are going well for you. I will definitely be praying for you. I feel somewhat timid to share this letter but trust that God is leading me to something bigger and better. I faithfully believe that this short-term journey will bring long term fruits for both you and I!

Abundant blessings from our Lord above & Mahalo!

Hannah Yun
